About 345

Our established Pre-School offers a learning environment full of fun and excitement, with activities to stimulate your child's imagination, encouraging emotional, physical, social and intellectual growth.

About 345

At 345 we provide a caring and fun environment in which children can learn through play, in a way and at a pace that is right for them. With a high ratio of adults to children we encourage and promote lively and enquiring minds, and a caring and positive attitude towards others. The children are involved in planning their learning experience allowing them to be creative, have a voice and feel included.

We work closely with the whole family and parents and carers are encouraged to come in and involve themselves in the preschool. We also make full use of Tapestry software, which allows our staff to regularly upload progress reports and photos for parents/carers to see. Our close partnership with Sun Hill Infant school ensures the transition to “big school” is a positive experience for everyone.

345 started as a Playgroup in 1969, and has been operating as a Pre-school since 1989. We take full advantage of our location in the heart of Alresford, organising regular trips out and inviting visitors from the local community in to talk to the children. Activities include outings to the local library on World Book Day, joining the community at the annual Alresford Watercress and Music festivals as well as the Alresford Show and Apple Day. We also go on nature walks to feed the ducks and visit the local fire station, and much more!

The Hall

Our light, spacious and versatile hall provides the perfect setting for activities for the children to enjoy.  Activities available for the children include a creative area, a malleable table (e.g. playdoh, cornflour, shaving foam, oats, etc.), writing area and construction (building blocks, transport, etc.).  We also provide a wide range of role play and small world play to let their imaginations run wild.  The children have the opportunity to choose what they would like to play with throughout the day.

The Courtyard

This is our outside classroom, where the children are free to come and go between the hall and courtyard area throughout the session, whatever the weather, to use ride-on toys as well as playing with the construction bricks and navigating obstacle courses.  The children are also able to investigate the environment and play with sand and water.

Forest Friday

On Friday mornings we walk up to Sun Hill Infant School with the children to access their pond area, timber trail, and fire pit.  This creates good links with the school, as well as exciting opportunities for the children.

News: Snack Bar!

We are delighted to announce that from September 2019 we have introduced a Snack Bar for the children.

This provides a range of healthy snacks that the children can help themselves to during the morning.  This allows the opportunity to engage children in conversation about healthy eating and lifestyle choices.

We are very thankful to the Alresford PIGS Association for funding this initiative for the year.
